About

Someone DMs "how much?" and gets your starting price, a price list or a WhatsApp chat, plus a nudge if the list stays unopened. Copy the template.

Someone DMs "how much?" and Inrō answers with your starting price and two buttons. One opens your price list, the other a WhatsApp chat with you. Everyone who taps goes into a folder you can work through, and a reminder follows if the price list stays unopened.

Whole price DM flow in Inrō: AI price trigger, two-button message, price list and WhatsApp links, folder and reminder

What the template does, step by step

1. Someone asks how much in a DM

The trigger fires on a DM that asks the price, the cost or how much something is, in the person's own words. Inrō's AI detects the question from the meaning of the message, so "how much?", "what does it cost?" and "what are your prices?" are the kind of wording it is meant to catch. The word "price" is not required.

It works on any message in the conversation, the first or a later one. Someone who has talked to you before can ask too. The question the AI looks for is a sentence you can read and edit in the trigger. As it comes, it is written to skip a button tap such as "Send the link" and a question about an order already made. If someone sends several messages in a row, Inrō waits 5 seconds after the last one before it checks.

2. Your starting price and two buttons

The first reply is short: "Prices start from €49. Want the price list, or WhatsApp?" Two buttons sit under it, "Send the link" and "Chat on WhatsApp". The €49 is an example for you to replace. Nothing in the template writes a price for you: the number is the text you type, and the price list is your own page.

Short openers do well: first messages under 120 characters converted at 39%, against 22% for longer ones, in our DM Benchmark of 798,041 conversations. This opener is 56 characters, so it falls in the short group. Each person picks one button, and with no tap within 6 hours nothing further goes out.

3. The price list link, and a reminder

"Send the link" brings a link card titled "Price list", with the button "See the prices". Behind it goes the page where your prices live.

Whoever taps "See the prices" lands in the folder "Prices: clicked", including someone who taps after the reminder went out. If 2 hours pass without a tap, one message follows: "Have you checked the link yet?" That timer only schedules the reminder. It does not close the card, so a late tap is still recorded.

4. Or a WhatsApp chat

"Chat on WhatsApp" brings a second link card, "Continue on WhatsApp", with the subtitle "Opens a chat on WhatsApp." and the button "Open WhatsApp". The card opens a WhatsApp chat link, and the chat itself happens in WhatsApp.

A tap on "Open WhatsApp" adds the person to the same "Prices: clicked" folder. This branch has no reminder, so nothing is sent to someone who does not tap.

5. "Prices: clicked" is your follow-up list

The folder lists the people who opened your price list or your WhatsApp chat. It holds taps, not sales: what happens after the tap takes place on your page or in the chat. Filter your Inrō inbox and CRM by the folder to see each of them next to their conversation.

What to change before you turn it on

The trigger comes ready: a DM that the AI reads as a price question, on any message of the conversation. Nothing is sent until you turn the scenario on.

Check six things before you go live:

  1. The starting price. "Prices start from €49." is an example. Type your real starting price, or the line that fits what you sell.
  2. The price list address. The "Price list" card points to an example inro.social address with UTM tags. Paste the address of your own price page. The UTM link generator builds a tagged address if you want these visits labelled in your analytics.
  3. The WhatsApp address. The "Continue on WhatsApp" card holds an example chat link. Paste your own WhatsApp chat link.
  4. The buttons and the reminder. Rename "Send the link", "Chat on WhatsApp" or "Have you checked the link yet?" if your customers talk differently. You can also change the 2-hour wait before the reminder.
  5. The question the AI looks for. The trigger holds a sentence that describes a price question. If your customers ask in other words, change that sentence to match.
  6. The settings and the folder. The template stops for a person as soon as you reply to them by hand. This is the "Interrupt when you reply manually" setting, and it is on. Rename the "Prices: clicked" folder if you keep one list per product line.

Best tips for your scenario

  • Give your real starting price, in one line. Lead with the number and keep the rest short.
  • Tell your two taps apart. Both buttons put people in "Prices: clicked". Add a second folder step on the WhatsApp branch, or rename the folder, so you know who wanted the list and who wanted to talk.
  • Reply by hand from the folder. Open "Prices: clicked" in your inbox every day and write to the people who looked. Your message also stops the automation for that person, so the reminder does not land in the middle of your chat.
  • Put it in a priority folder with your other DM automations. A priority folder is a folder of automations where only the highest one in the list runs when several match the same DM. A message like "how much for 50 guests?" may match this template and a quote template at once, so a priority folder keeps one answer per message.
  • Keep price comments on a separate automation. This template listens to DMs. When people ask "how much?" under a post, the comment to DM feature sends them the answer in a DM, and you stop asking people to write "DM for price".
  • Add a reminder to the WhatsApp branch if you want one. As built, only the price list card follows up. Add a message step after the 2 hours on the WhatsApp card to match it.

FAQ

How do I answer price questions on Instagram automatically?

Use a DM trigger that spots a price question by its meaning. This template replies with your starting price and two buttons, one for your price list and one for a WhatsApp chat. Everyone who taps goes into a folder, and one reminder follows if the price list stays unopened.

Does it only work when someone writes "price"?

No. The AI reads the meaning of the message, so "how much?" and "what does it cost?" are the kind of wording it is meant to catch. If your customers ask differently, change the sentence in the trigger.

What if the person does not tap anything?

After the price list card, they get one reminder 2 hours later if they have not tapped. If nobody taps either button within 6 hours of your first message, nothing more is sent.

Does it stop when I reply myself?

Yes, for that person. As soon as you write to them, the automation stops, so the reminder does not follow your own answer.
