A contact filter is one condition Inrō checks against a contact: something they did in a date range, such as commenting or clicking a link, or something on their profile, such as having an email.
A contact filter is one condition Inrō checks against a contact. It looks either at something they did in a date range, such as a comment or a story reply, or at something on their profile, such as an email address. Every Instagram contact segment, campaign audience and filtered flow in Inrō is built from them.
Filters come in four families:
Activity filters take a date range: today, since yesterday, the last 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, all time, or dates you pick. A new one starts at the last 30 days. Contact info filters take an operator instead, such as "is present", "contains" or "is above".
The same filters pick contacts in five places:
A filter checks the same thing in each of these places. You can also run filters through the Inrō public API.
No. A filter is one condition, and an Instagram contact segment is the group of contacts it picks out. Inrō checks filters at the moment they run, so whoever matches then is in the segment. For a list you keep by hand, use a CRM folder.
Several filters combine as "Match all filters" (AND) or "Match any filter" (OR), and a saved, named set of them is an audience segment. For the other terms around contacts and automations, see the Inrō glossary.
