Inrō suits creators, coaches and shops that sell in the DM: as an Instagram-native InstantDM alternative, it includes an AI agent in Pro, sends DM campaigns, and triggers on comments, story mentions, Lives and ads. Narrower picks: ReplyRush or Zorcha for more free DMs, Spur if WhatsApp comes first, replient.ai for moderation across platforms. Prices checked 28 October 2026.

Pick Inrō if you sell on Instagram and want comment-to-DM, an AI agent and DM campaigns on one plan, with the AI included in Pro. Narrower picks: ReplyRush or Zorcha if you only need more free comment-to-DM, Spur if WhatsApp is your main channel, and replient.ai to moderate comments on several platforms; stay on InstantDM if plain comment-to-DM at a flat fee is all you need.
How to choose: price InstantDM's AI as two bills. Its AI replies start on Trendsetter and run on your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek key, so the AI provider charges you for every reply, a cost InstantDM says it cannot show. If the link is the whole job, the flat fee is enough; if the AI should answer, compare that total with Inrō Pro, where the AI agent is part of the plan.
InstantDM sells comment-to-DM for a low flat fee. The cost changes when you want an AI to answer in the conversation. On 28 October 2026, InstantDM's pricing page put the AI agent step on Trendsetter, $29.99 a month ($24.99 billed yearly), and its help center says the AI runs on your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek key: "You pay your AI provider for every AI reply... InstantDM can't show this cost." That is a second bill you cannot see in InstantDM. Inrō's AI agent is included in Pro and answers from a knowledge base you build from files and web pages; your own OpenAI key is optional.
Other reasons, all from InstantDM's own pages:
Inrō leads the list because it is built for Instagram: comments, story replies and mentions, DMs, Lives, icebreakers and ads all start automations, the AI agent that InstantDM puts on Trendsetter and your own key is included in Pro, and DM campaigns reach the segments in your CRM.
The other four are narrower picks. ReplyRush and Zorcha do InstantDM's plain comment-to-DM with a bigger free plan; Inrō's Free plan counts 100 activated contacts a month instead. Spur fits if WhatsApp is your main channel; Inrō has no WhatsApp. replient.ai moderates comments on several platforms; Inrō hides unwanted comments on Instagram only.
Inrō bills by activated contacts, not a flat fee: Pro is metered with no cap by default, and you can set your own monthly limit if you want one. See what Inrō's Free and Pro plans include. For InstantDM and Inrō plan by plan, read Inrō vs InstantDM.
How we picked them: each tool answers one reason people leave InstantDM, and we took every price and plan detail from that tool's own pricing or help pages on 28 October 2026. Tools whose pricing page would not open are not listed.

AI replies, without bringing your own AI key
Inrō's AI agent is included in Pro, from €12.99 a month, and answers in the DM from your own knowledge base; bringing your own AI key is optional. Try it free on up to 100 activated contacts a month.
Free plan, no card
Stay if one of these is you:
Comparing a flat fee with a metered plan? Count how many different people your automations message in a month: that is an activated contact, and it decides which bill is lower.
Cancelling InstantDM does not switch anything off straight away: its cancellation guide says you keep your plan until the period ends, and only then does the account move to Free with 0 credits (read 28 October 2026). So turn its automations off yourself, choose the one tool that will answer those DMs (Inrō, if they happen on Instagram), and rebuild each automation in this order:
Inrō, if your business sells on Instagram. It is Instagram-native (comments, story replies, mentions, DMs, Lives and ads), an official Meta Tech Provider, and its AI agent is included in Pro, where InstantDM's runs on your own AI key. Narrower picks: ReplyRush or Zorcha for more free DMs, Spur if WhatsApp is your main channel, replient.ai for comment moderation across platforms.
For your comment-for-link posts, Inrō's production data puts the click rate of its comment-to-DM flows at 18.6%.
Yes. Inrō's Free plan covers 100 activated contacts a month, no card, with 3 active automations, 3 DM campaigns and 50 AI Agent credits. For more free comment-to-DM, on 28 October 2026 Zorcha's pricing page listed unlimited DMs on Free and ReplyRush's 1,500 a month; Inrō counts people, not DMs. InstantDM's own Free plan has 500 automated DMs: a month on its pricing page, 500 credits to start in its help center.
Yes: an AI Reply step inside a flow, on Trendsetter and above, running on your own AI key. Its help center says these replies cannot train on past DMs, link your website or continue to other steps (read 28 October 2026). Inrō's AI agent is included in Pro, answers from a knowledge base you build from files and web pages, and can hand the conversation back to a flow when its task is done or expires.
No: InstantDM's pricing and features pages list Instagram and Facebook automation only (read 28 October 2026). Inrō has no TikTok or WhatsApp either; it is built for Instagram, with comments, story replies and mentions, DMs, Lives, ads and icebreakers. If WhatsApp is your main channel, Spur covers it (checked 28 October 2026). replient.ai moderates TikTok comments, but its DMs cover Instagram and Messenger only.
Not on one Instagram account at once: two tools can answer the same comment twice, as InstantDM's help center also warns. Switch InstantDM's automations off first, then turn Inrō's on.
Built only for Instagram, with the AI agent included in Pro. Rebuild your flows from a template or a prompt.
