Mid-flow interruption is when a scenario run already in progress stops partway because the contact joined a folder that scenario excludes, or now matches your account's exclusion filters. The run stops at its next step.
Mid-flow interruption is how Inrō stops a scenario run that is already going. If a contact joins a folder the scenario excludes, or starts to match your account's exclusion filters, their run stops at its next step. The rest of the flow never happens.
Each scenario can exclude folders, under Exclude specific folders in the flow builder. That setting, and the account-wide filters under Exclude specific contacts, have their own entry: excluded contacts. Inrō runs the same check before a contact enters the scenario and again at every step after. A contact already in an excluded folder never starts the flow. A contact who lands in one partway through is stopped.
At the next step, not the moment the folder changes. Inrō checks when a step is about to start, when a delay or a wait comes due, and when a step times out. Say a contact joins the excluded folder during a two-day delay. Nothing happens until the delay ends. Then the check runs, the run stops, and the next message is never sent.
A handover to the AI agent ends the same way: the check runs each time the agent replies. In the scenario's run history, the stopped run shows Interrupted with the reason "Contact is in an excluded folder" and the folder's name. Scenario execution covers the other ways a run can end.
Only if they exclude the same folder. A folder excluded in one scenario stops that scenario only. Another scenario that does not exclude the same CRM folder can still run for the contact.
To stop every scenario for someone, use the account-wide filters. A contact who starts to match them partway through a run is stopped at the next step, in every scenario.
Add the contact to one of the scenario's excluded folders. Say a comment-to-DM automation sends a link, waits two days, then sends a reminder. If the contact buys in between and you move them to a "Customers" folder the scenario excludes, the reminder never goes out.
You can move them by hand from the Inrō inbox and CRM, or inside the flow with a Folder step. When a Folder step adds the contact to a folder the same scenario excludes, the builder warns you: "Adding the contact to it will interrupt the rest of the scenario." More terms like this one are in the Inrō automation glossary.
