A catch-all trigger is not wider reach, it is a flow full of people who said 'love this' and never wanted anything, and on the DM side, automations set to fire on any incoming message sit in the worst-performing group seven times in ten. Everything you put in front of the link is a place to lose someone, and warming people up before you give them what they asked for does not work here, because they already asked. 442 automations, 630,972 conversations, no way of knowing. More than a third of automations with real traffic contain no tracked link, no button, no survey and no follow gate. They may be working beautifully; their owners have no way to find out. The usual culprit is a raw URL typed into a plain message instead of a tracked link, which also makes every click invisible to you. Swap raw URLs for tracked links and the problem disappears.
